It can be difficult to answer the question of whether it's legal to sell CBD, as different states have different regulations on the possession and use of cannabidiol. While hemp-based CBD is legal at the federal level, some states consider it illegal to use or possess any cannabis product for a period. Other states only allow the use of CBD for medical purposes. There is significant interest in the development of therapies and other consumer products derived from cannabis and its components, including cannabidiol (CBD).

In Japan, according to current state laws, CBD products derived from hemp seeds and stems that do not contain THC are legal. Hemp seed oil, unlike CBD oil, does not contain any cannabinoids, even though both are extracted from the same plant. This means that oils and other products must be created using CBD-rich cannabis varieties, namely Cannabis Sativa L (CSL) varieties. This law should be sufficient to legalize CBD products on the market; however, the law goes into more detail and establishes additional requirements on the production of cannabidiol. Before you order CBD oil online or start driving around town to visit local stores, make sure you know how to differentiate dodgy companies from high-quality brands.
